My name is Gypsy and I have been a photographic and bridal makeup artist for twenty years.
Do I still love it? YES!! Absolutely 100%
Throughout my career I have managed three photographic studios on the Gold Coast and Sydney . I have owned a studio with fourteen full time staff in the heart of Surry Hills .Worked for seven years as head makeup artist for National Geographic. I have done literally hundreds of dancers and actors headshots. All nationalities and ages.
Now I reside in the tranquil and stunning Hinterland of Byron Bay surrounded by forest, horses,, chickens, ducks and dogs .
Byron Bay is the epicentre for brides wanting a magical wedding experience and we are blessed to have some of the finest wedding vendors and venues in Australia.
The best thing about having such an extensive career in makeup is that I am fully equipped for anything that can happen from searing hot humid weather conditions. timelines running late, last minute changes , running a team  and managing client expectations .
One day is never the same as the next. Different locations, people and job briefs always keep me on my toes and I am continuously learning. The day I don’t want to keep learning will be the day I retire.
2024 Brings me into a whole new era of my career as I embark on Destination Weddings. I am so excited to be working in Italy this year and planning for an even bigger season for 2025.
I am grateful for the incredible vendors I am meeting in the process of planning destination weddings.
This year will also see my team at Byron Bay Makeup Co expand as the business grows and so I am so thrilled to bring those new faces and skill sets to my team.
We also have a very exciting new project on the boil which will change the face of the Makeup and hair business as we expand our horizons into different areas of the business. Stay tuned for those updates as they unfold.
So pumped for what this year will bring!
